Q1 2024 Round-Up: Top Pirate Games on Android in Latin America

Latin America's Android gaming scene saw an adventurous start to 2024, especially within the pirate-themed category. Sensor Tower's data provides a telescope into the performance of the top five swashbuckling applications in the first quarter.

Sea of Conquest: Pirate War by FunPlus International AG, launched on January 2nd, 2024, made quite the splash. Downloads initially surged to 139K in the third week but then gradually tapered off to 12K by the end of March. Revenue showed an upward trend in the first month, peaking at $21K, before descending to nearly $15K. Weekly active users hit their zenith at 138K in late January and saw a slight decline to 52K by the quarter's end.

SayGames Ltd's Pirate Raid - Caribbean Battle observed modest performance, with downloads peaking at 13K in the first week of January and bouncing back to a similar figure towards March's close. Weekly active users exhibited a similar pattern, with a peak of 16K in late January and rallying back to 13K by the quarter's conclusion. Revenue, however, experienced a downward tendency, starting at $419 and dipping to $173.

The game Save The Pirate! Make choices! by Mauris IT, despite its earlier release in 2020, saw downloads dwindle from 37K at the year's start to less than 1K in mid-March, then slightly recovering to 703. Weekly active users followed suit, decreasing from 35K to 2.6K.

Joycity Corp.'s seasoned title, Pirates of the Caribbean: ToW, showed a steady revenue trend with a slight increase from $1.5K to $1.8K in the final weeks of March. Downloads remained relatively stable, ranging between 4.7K and 6.7K, while weekly active users saw a rise from 14K to 13K over the quarter.

Lastly, Last Pirate: Survival Island by RetroStyle Games UA, showed a consistent decline in downloads from 5K to 3.3K. Weekly active users also saw a downward trajectory from 14K to 10K.
